The Orangerie at Le Lude
The Orangerie Restaurant is the newest restaurant addition to the
already amazing list of eateries in the Franschhoek Valley.
Situated in the picturesque town of Franschhoek, next to the
historical Huguenot Monument, lies Le Lude MCC Farm. Orangerie, the
restaurant at Le Lude, offers a relaxed, French atmosphere with a
classic French lunch menu, high tea and MCC tastings served with a
selection of canapes. Le Lude and Orangerie Restaurant is a
family affair with almost the whole family involved in the business.
Paul Gerber is the winemaker and Nicolene Barrows is the brain behind
all the delicious dishes at the Orangerie Restaurant. The
Orangerie is a place where you need to take your time.
“Nowhere have I seen the sublime and the beautiful, the tame and the
terrible so well arranged” wrote Sit John Barrow on a visit to the
Franschhoek Valley during the first British Occupation of the Cape
from 1795 to 1803. Today, Franschhoek is the jewel in the crown of the Cape
Winelands.
